With the chef Marc Aubry at its helm, Champêtre serves authentic, old-school French cuisine that is worth every penny. The interiors are nothing fancy; but, its cosy setting makes it perfect for an intimate dinner with family and friends alike.
There is no better way to start a meal here than to sample the divinely delicious selection of pâtés. Served with crunchy melba toasts, the duck and goose foie gras, duck and red wine pâté, pork rillettes and pâté en croute comprise the assorted pâté platter. For the mains, try the grilled rosemary marinated US black Angus rib-eye with fries, salad and béarnaise sauce. The succulent meat is seasoned just right, and the chunky fries on the side is such a perfect accompaniment. While not on the menu, the chef Marc Aubry’s famous trio of seafood pasta (of the old Je Suis
Gourmand fame) can still be ordered upon request. The white wine sauce with scallops, seabass and prawns poured over al dente spaghetti is too hard to resist. For desserts, the sinful cheesecake with fresh strawberries and the warm apple and mango tart tatin with whipped cream are highly recommended.
